From the Archives of American Collector Magazine The April 2, 2009 online edition of The Collectors Weekly has reproduced an article entitled: Folk Art in Pennsylvania Dutch Cooky Cutters. It was originally published in the January 1942 issue of American Collector magazine which served antique collectors and dealers. It is written by Earl F. If you were a lover of Mother's Cookies then you were, no doubt, quite disappointed when they closed their doors in 2008. Mother's, a family business since 1914, included such favorites as the pink and white Circus Animals and creme-filled Taffy sandwich cookies. Well, we're happy to tell you that the Kellogg Company has purchased the trademarks and original recipes for Mother's brand and intends to bring back the cookies, beginning very shortly. 
The December 08 issue of Early American Life Magazine had a great 11 page article on cookie cutters written by Gregory LeFever. It features a number of tinsmiths including Bill and Betsy Cukla of Hammersong, Karen Morrison of Victor Trading Company, Karen Hurd and Foose. Read the article online
